About Jesse Proudman

Technology entrepreneur Jesse Proudman launched his first tech company at the age of 13 and has been pursuing his passion for Internet infrastructure ever since. With over 15 years of experience in building and leading IT businesses, he is Founder and CTO of Blue Box Group, a Seattle-based cloud hosting company that delivers agile cloud resources to nearly 600 customers worldwide.

Proudman created Blue Box Group in his college dorm room, and for the past 11 years, he has been involved in every aspect of the company’s operations and rapid growth, guiding it successfully through two major recessions and three major revisions to its business model. In 2012 Blue Box Group completed a $4.3 million Series A round of funding. Proudman assembled a world-class group of innovators and customer-service minded executives to capitalize on the OpenStack market. 

Proudman is GeekWire’s 2014 Young Entrepreneur of the Year and a member of the 2013 class of Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. He also was a regional semifinalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Proudman enjoys sharing lessons he has learned with young entrepreneurs. He serves a mentor for the University of Washington Jones / Foster Accelerator, 9 Mile Labs, and the University of Puget Sound Business Leadership Program and as a judge for the University of Washington Business Plan Competition. 

Proudman also gets fired up about driving fast cars and has a budding career as a race car driver. He and his family reside in Seattle.
